The Halo Effect.JPG
The Halo Effect...and the Eight other Business Delusions that Deceive Managers

Phil Rosenzweig

Free Press (NY  2007)

The Halo Effect takes a critical look at many of the key business studies in the 1990s and early 2000s.  Many of them stated that after much research, they had identified the "magic formula" (as I like to call it) for a successful business.  Dr. Rosenzweig debunks those studies by showing that mountains of data and tons of research do not necessarily equal a recipe for success.  Although it is over 10 years old, the lessons, in my humble opinion, still apply.

Leveraged Learning: How the Disruption of Education Helps Lifelong Learners and Experts with Something to Teach

Danny Ivy

IdeaPress Publishing 2018

Danny Ivy makes the case that learning needs to be a lifelong undertaking.  Colleges and universities are failing the need of young people today by giving them everything at once, and then off they go.  The world does not work in that manner and he proposes a new way of looking at learning.
